The Context

I operate as an independent consultant under the Montandon brand, partnering with SMEs to bridge the critical gap between high-level marketing strategy and technical execution. Many small businesses struggle with fragmented systems—marketing data sits in one silo, sales in another, and their website is often just a static brochure rather than a dynamic conversion tool. My business was founded to solve this disconnected reality. I don't just "build websites"; I architect commercial engines. By integrating modern web development with robust CRM systems and AI-driven automation, I help business owners reclaim their time and drive tangible revenue growth.

The Challenge

The core challenge for my clients is operational inefficiency and "data blindness." They often have traffic but no conversion mechanism, or leads but no follow-up process. They rely on manual data entry, which is prone to error and eats into valuable strategic time. The goal is always to move them from manual, ad-hoc processes to automated, data-driven workflows.

Key Projects and Initiatives

Florist E-Commerce Platform

Designed and built a custom WordPress/WooCommerce site for a boutique florist. The key innovation was a custom delivery date/time picker that respected complex local delivery zones and cutoff times, eliminating hours of manual scheduling work every week.

Construction Firm Lead Gen Engine

Refactored a slow, brochure-ware site into a high-performance Next.js application. Implemented detailed LocalBusiness schema and service-area pages, resulting in a dominance of local SEO rankings and a 3x increase in inbound enquiries.

Recruitment Compliance Automation

Integrated Zoho CRM with TrustID and Octopaye for a recruitment agency. This workflow automatically triggered ID checks and synced payroll data, ensuring 100% compliance record-keeping without a single manual data entry point.

Tools and Technology

My stack is pragmatic and performance-oriented. I use Next.js for high-speed, SEO-critical frontends, and WordPress where client editability is paramount. On the backend, I rely on Zoho One for CRM/ERP capabilities and n8n to orchestrate complex automations between disparate APIs.

Results and Impact

The impact is best measured in time saved and peace of mind. For the florist, it was the elimination of "delivery anxiety." For the recruitment agency, it was passing audits with zero stress. Commercially, my clients typically see a clear ROI within 3-6 months through reduced admin costs and increased lead capture rates.

What I Learned

Running my own consultancy has sharpened my ability to translate technical concepts into business value. I've learned that technology is useless if the client can't use it, which is why I now place a massive emphasis on handover training and documentation.
